Bare Hand Techniques

Program Description

Although the bare hand method may be limited in scope, this technique affords line maintenance personnel another option to consider for specific tasks. The program concentrates on the procedures and basic philosophy involved with this technique. Participants are required to bring their own CSA approved head, eye and foot protection, traffic vest, suitable clothing for outside work (FR rated for work in an electrical environment), Class #2 rubber gloves, personal hand tools, leather work gloves, and full body harness and lanyard. The participant will not be permitted to participate in the course if they do not bring the noted personal protective equipment and tools.

  • Job planning/tailboard talk
  • Field practice—bare hand live line technique
