Joint Health and Safety Committee Effectiveness

Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs) are now commonplace in most Ontario companies. IHSA has created this half-day program to help committee members become more effective in order to influence positive, sustainable health and safety changes within the workplace. This course will provide participants with the strategies and tools necessary to re-energize, re-focus, and produce positive results.

  • Introduction to occupational health and safety resources
  • Rights, duties, and roles of workplace parties including JHSC members
  • Powers of the Certified Member
  • Introduction to the recognize, assess, control, and evaluate (RACE) system of hazard management

Managers, JHSC members, safety coordinators, safety representatives, any employees responsible for completing workplace inspections, and company representatives who want to develop or improve a company's workplace inspection program.
